it was an all day event. long as EVER. thought we wouldnt like that but to our suprised we enjoyed ourselves very much.
i got the luxury of having access to almost everything there because i was like the assistant to the creative director or something. MR. REGGIE ANDREWS the great. so i just basically had to help out with w.e he did, mainly getting the orchestra together to play. HIP HOP ORCHESTRA. WTF!!! THEY WERE NICE!!!!
also, a band who's an old time friend of my family, Third World, they happened to be the closing act. how awesome right? u know what that means. free tickets for the homies. yup. so i got my boy CHARL3ZzZ, my boy Lux, and my cousin J free tickets. and damn were those tickets expensive too.....
so we showed up around 2 or so, went to the back vip room or w.e to wait until it was time for the orchestra to play. kool kool..... they had a little classical jam session it was nice very nice. got time to go i got everybody together and in place backstage. then we all piled onto the stage. Lux and I helped set things up on stage and in turn we got to stay onstage for the performance. AWESOME! got to watch Malcom Jamal Warner and his band and the orchestra all do their thing.
that was great. i had to stay with mr. andrews for a little after that to help with sum extras but once that was over i rolled with the posse (me, CHARL3ZzZ, j, jeffrey, lux, and travi). we went from booth to booth, spot to spot, just watching the performances and cheing out the merchandise. made a lotta great hookups in the meantime.
Lux sang onstage with the Shi-Lites!!!! WTF!!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!! he was singing better than they were and they had to snatch his mic from him. like damn let the boy shine if he wants to sheesh. am i right?
the best part of thee night.....sitting on stage during th Third World performances. now let me tll you.... if youve never been to a reggae concert in your life, shame on you. reggae artists put on the greatest performances. and i gotta say.....THird World rocked that shit. they were the best performance of the day. no lie. sorry to the rest that performed, but you didnt compare dudes im sorry. you wanna hear some good music? go to a reggae concert dude. so not only did we get to see the performance, we got to sit onstage during it. THE WHOLE POSSE!!! we took pictures from onstage. Cat did a few solos, they were awesome.... but the highlights of their performances dude. Tony (the drummer) on the djembe, jammin like he was insane. got everybody moving. no joke. then the finale. they made everyone think the show was over. nope. wasnt. Cat pulled out his electric cello (WTF!!!) and played their signature number. doesnt even have a name its just awesome. and you dont know what i mean until u see the performance in person. RIDICULOUS.
